“I too am just a child. I need the divine parentage from our Blessed Mother and Father in Heaven.”
She held God himself in her arms. His sacrifice on the cross means that he lives on in the hearts of all people.
How difficult that is to remember in the day to day. If only we could always look at our children and see the face of God.
I have failed on so many occasions to showcase the tenderness, the mercy, the charity needed to be the “perfect parent”. I too am just a child. I need the divine parentage from our Blessed Mother and Father in Heaven.
I used to think about being in my thirties, looking at other people in their thirties thinking, Oh yeah, they really have it all together. Now that I am here, I realise just how wrong I was. We’re all still figuring it out and I believe we always will be figuring it out because yes, we’re sinners, and fallen but we strive for more.
Lord I hunger and thirst for you.
There’s a long road ahead but you and your sweet mother are here to guide me. Whatever my earthly parents fail at doing you are here for me always and forever.
I thank you for the gift of bearing children and bringing life into this world. What a gift it is to be a mother. In just three short years of parenting I have already learned so much about humanity, and about my own parents.
Lord, I am ready for whatever trials may come, because I know that you and your mother will safely bring me home, even if I cannot see or understand your ways.
I cling to you Lord.
Mother of Sorrows, wrap me in your mantle. Take my heart and lay it on the altar of your son and let it burn and rise up like incense to the Father. Until only Christ remains
This day, and all days, will be a Happy Mother’s Day.
