“If it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”

— Gospel of Luke 11:20

In today’s Gospel, Christ reveals something profound. He reveals that God is not distant from the world but actively touching it.

Throughout Scripture, the finger of God represents divine action. The tablets of the Law were written by the finger of God, and now Jesus reveals that the same divine power is at work through Him, bringing freedom, healing, and restoration.

Often we imagine God working only through great miracles. But more often, His touch appears in smaller, unnoticed ways:
a moment of unexpected peace,
the grace to forgive,
a word that reaches our heart at just the right time,
a strength we didn’t know we had.

These are the fingerprints of God in our lives.

Just as a fingerprint leaves a unique mark, God leaves traces of His presence in the story of each soul. In the turning of our hearts back to Him, in the small victories over temptation, in the love that grows within our families. His touch is always there.

The Kingdom of God is not only something we await in heaven. It is already breaking into our lives whenever Christ frees us from what binds us and draws us closer to the Father.

Today, ask for the grace to notice the fingerprints of God, those quiet signs that He is working within your heart and within your home.
